Members of the Greenwich Fire Department’s Engine 3 rescued a mother duck and her family of ducklings early on Tuesday morning, jumping into action to save the mother and seven of her children from the drain.
In the video, which was posted on social media, members of the department can be seen descending by ladder into the storm drain to rescue the ducks, who were reunited with their mother and promptly took off down the road, following her lead.
None of the ducks were injured during the rescue. It was not clear how the birds wound up trapped in the drain.
